【摘要】:Evaluationofrawmaterialcomponentsisavitalandongoingpartofanymanufacturingoperation,especiallywheneachitemcancontributetothetechnicalperformanceofthefinalproduct.Thistestmethodmeasuresthebehaviorofmattressedgebindingandsewingthreadduringandafterexposuretoanopenflameignitionsource.Flameresistanceofthecomponentsusedtoclosetheperimeterofamattressisanimportantfactorinlimitingthepotentialofabeddingfirebypreventingthechanceforseamfailure.Datawhichshowacorrelationofbehaviorforboththesewingthreadandedgebindingtape,whentestedasasubassemblyaccordingtothistestmethod,andalsowhentestedusingafullscalecompositemattressburntest,suchasCaliforniaTB603,canprovidethemanufacturerwithimportantinformation.Thesedatacanbevaluablewhenselectingcomponentstobeusedinthemanufactureofitsproductswhicharedesignedtousemattressedgebindingandsewingthread.Thelevelofperformancerequiredforthesecomponentsis(1)thattheydonotsupporttheafterflame,and(2)thatthesecomponentsdemonstratepostflameexposurecharacteristicswhichcontributetoretainingthestructuralintegrityofthesubassembly.Incaseofadisputearisingfromdifferencesinreportedresultswhenusingthistestmethodforacceptancetestingofcommercialshipments,thepurchaserandthesuppliershouldconductcomparativeteststodetermineifthereisastatisticalbiasbetweentheirlaboratories.Competentstatisticalassistanceisrecommendedfortheinvestigationofbias.Asaminimum,thetwopartiesshouldtakeagroupoftestspecimenswhichareashomogeneousaspossibleandwhicharefromalotofmaterialofthetypeinquestion.Thetestspecimensshouldthenbesenttoeachlaboratoryfortesting.TheaverageresultsfromthetwolaboratoriesshouldbecomparedusingStudent''st-testandanacceptableprobabilitylevelchosenbythetwopartiesbeforetestingisbegun.Ifabiasisfound,eitheritscausemustbefoundandcorrectedorthepurchaserandthesuppliermustagreetointerpretfuturetestresultswithconsiderationtotheknownbias.1.1Thistestmethodmeasurestheflammabilitycharacteristicsofmattressedgebindingsandsewingthreadsduringandafterexposuretoanopenflameignitionsource.1.1.1Thistestmethodisusedtoevaluatethesecomponentseitherindependentlyorincombinationforuseinmattressesdesignedwithafirebarrierfabric.1.1.1.1Thetestmethodisusedtoevaluatemattressedgebindingandsewingthreadwhenthedesignrequirestheuseofthesecomponents.1.1.2Thistestmethodcanbeusedasascreeningtestmethodtodeterminehowsewingthreadandmattressedgebindingcomponentcombinationswillperform.1.2Thistestmethodisusedtomeasureanddescribetheresponseofmaterials,products,orsubassembliestoheatandflameundercontrolledconditions,butdoesnotbyitselfincorporateallfactorsrequiredforfirehazardorfireriskassessmentofthematerials,products,orassembliesunderactualfireconditions.1.3Firetestingofproductsandmaterialsisinherentlyhazardous,andadequatesafeguardsforpersonnelandpropertyshallbeemployedinconductingthesetests.1.4ThevaluesstatedineitherSIunitsorinch-poundunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemmaynotbeexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemshallbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnon-conformancewiththestandard.1.5Thistestmethodmayinvolvehazardousmaterials,operations,andequipm......
